Behind The Spring, 2021

In Bangladesh, discriminatory and disempowering social and cultural norms, formidable legal barriers, and capacity constraints limit access to social and legal protection for key populations, including lesbians, gay, bi-sexual, transgender, and intersex (LGBTI). Those who belong to the transgender population, known as Hijra or third gender, are socially stigmatized and at risk of emotional and physical violence and vulnerabilities with very few opportunities for education, employment, access to public facilities, and health services.
Despite all the stigmatized barriers, there are always a few characters who lead the situations towards the win. The protagonists of this film who belong to the transgender population, are playing a very positive role to build a solid stand for the LGBTI community in Bangladesh.
